Acclaimed theatre producer Bill Kenwright returns to the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds with Rehearsal for Murder from August 8 – Saturday 13.
This thrilling play revolves around playwright Alex Dennison, who is left heartbroken when his fiancée and leading lady Monica Welles is found dead from an apparent suicide.
On the anniversary of that ill-fated night, Alex assembles the same cast and crew in the same theatre, for a reading of his new play. But as the reading begins, it becomes clear that Alex believes that Monica was murdered and he intends to uncover her killer.
Fresh from playing the evil Gordon Livesy in Emmerdale, Gary Mavers returns to the Theatre Royal having trod the boards last year as Bloor in And Then There Were None.
He is joined by Alex Ferns who gripped the nation as the villainous Trevor Morgan in EastEnders, Susie Amy who will be remembered as the much-loved Chardonnay in Footballers’ Wives, the cast is completed by movie actress and chart topper Anita Harris (Carry On franchise), regular West End performer Mark Wynter, Holby City actor Lauren Drummond and Ben Nealon, who also appeared at the Theatre Royal in last year’s production of And Then There Were None (Soldier Soldier).
Producer Bill Kenwright has produced hit-shows in the West End and on Broadway. His most successful shows include Dreamboats and Petticoats, Joseph and His Technicolour Dreamcoat and working with Judi Dench in All’s Well That End’s Well.
