The Lakenheath handler has two of the six runners in the final of the Category One event, including odds-on favourite Brigadier Bullet and third favourite Chubbys Caviar.

Brigadier Bullet, last year’s Essex Vase finalist, won his semi-final by six and a quarter lengths in 34.95 seconds, while Chubbys Caviar proved too strong to win in 35.35.

Wallis’ two previous successes in the event came with Reel Trickyone in 2014 and Roswell Romanov two years ago.

Hockwold’s Patrick Janssens will also be represented in the final by Desperado Dan, who is the second favourite with the bookmakers to win.
