Thurlbourne out for the season
Ely City have been rocked by the news that Jamie Thurlbourne will miss the remainder of the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
The midfielder, who joined the Robins towards the end of the previous campaign, suffered the injury during last month's Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division encounter against Gorleston.
A subsequent scan has now revealed the full extent of the damage, with Thurlbourne requiring surgery and several months of rehabilitation.
The left-footed creative player – formerly of Mildenhall Town and Newmarket Town – had become a key member of Brady Stone's squad since his arrival from Wisbech Town, helping the side to win the Cambridgeshire Invitation Cup in late April.
In further Ely injury news, defender Adam Dalby is likely to be sidelined for a further month with a foot problem.
