Former Ipswich Town defender Joe Robinson agrees to join Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Newmarket Town from King's Lynn Town

Newmarket Town have pulled off a transfer coup with former Ipswich Town defender Joe Robinson agreeing to join the club.

The 22-year-old, who made his one appearance for the Tractor Boys during an FA Cup tie against Portsmouth in 2016, started last season with Cambridge City before switching to King's Lynn Town.

He went on to feature on 10 occasions for the Linnets as they secured promotion to the National League North via a 3-2 win over Warrington in the Super Play-Off final.

However, he will not be making the jump up to Step 2 with the Norfolk side and instead has opted to turn out for the Jockeys alongside his brother Ben, who joined Newmarket in January from Cambridge City.

Robinson has become player-manager Michael Shinn's third signing of the summer following the arrivals of James Seymour and Mark Lovell.
