Experienced duo join Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Ely City on short-term loans

Ely City have completed the short-term loan additions of two experienced players ahead of tomorrow's home encounter against Wroxham (3pm).

David Cooper is the first to arrive at the Demcom Stadium from neighbouring Mildenhall Town.

The right-back has previously won the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division title and the League Challenge Cup twice with Mildenhall, but he has not started a match since February due to the broken leg that he suffered in training.

The other player to join up with the Robins is former Southend United defender Johnny Herd, who is currently on the books of higher-league Peterborough Sports.

Herd made more than 40 appearances for Football League outfit Southend between 2008 and 2011, and he has also had stints higher up the non-league pyramid with Ebbsfleet United, Bishop's Stortford and St Neots Town.
