Defender Joe Asensi re-signs for Mildenhall Town

Joe Asensi has become the latest player to commit to Mildenhall Town for the 2019/20 season.

As well as new additions Jack Brame, Casey Phillips and the returning Alex Steed, captain Luke Butcher, goalkeeper Jake Hayhoe and youngster Ben Nolan have all re-signed for the club over recent days.

And they have now been joined by defender Asensi, who manager Ricky Cornish picked as his Player of the Season for last term.

Asensi returned to Mildenhall soon after Cornish's appointment in December 2018, having left in October of that year following a successful stint that saw him become a crucial part of the squad that won the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division title and back-to-back League Challenge Cups.

"Joe has great composure, a terrific left foot and knows how to win things from his previous time with the club," said Cornish.

"He was great after coming back last season and that is why he got my manager's award."
