Mark Wallis finished in a distant fourth place in the Chelsea Glass GTA Trainers Championship held at Sittingbourne on Tuesday night.
The Lakenheath handler finished on 33 points at the end of the eighth and final race, as Kevin Hutton retained the title with 53 points.
Ahead of the first race, Wallis had a winner with Cisberry Geo edging out the rest of the competition in the Sittingbourne Maiden.
The opening race of the Championship saw the 2015 winner begin his early dominance, as Willy Whitesocks (29.02 seconds) was a narrow winner in the Slyde Standard ahead of Wallis’ entrant Clondoty Alex (29.06).
Hutton’s entrants continued to set the pace in the second race, with Dorotas Star (30.01) winning the Tullymurry Act At Stud Puppies.
Droopys Achieve (30.71) finished in fifth for Wallis, while Ilewin Allot (16.39) did better to take fourth place in the Mitch Millward Sprint, but it was Hutton’s Glenanore Ace (16.25) who kept up the holder’s winning start to the night.
Paul Young ended Hutton’s resistance after Millwards Master (40.06) won the Kentish Stayers, with Wallis’ Garryglass Pixie (40.23) finishing in fourth place.
Wallis claimed his first victory of the Championship in the next race, as Ballymac Shirley (28.73) came out on top in the GTA Bitches.
Roswell Iceman (31.01) claimed fourth place in the Kent Kings Super Standard, which was won by Hayley Keightley’s On Alert (29.93).
Seamus Cahill notched the last two winners with Fenbay Roller (43.88) winning the Heineken Super Stayers, and Southfield Jock (29.07) was victorious in the Cearnsport Standard.
Billys Bullet (44.42) and Domino Storm (29.70) landed fourth and fifth place finishes for Wallis respectively.
