Victor Gladwell grabbed a last-ditch victory on Saturday ay Jeagor Lakes.
He had trailed Fred Schultheiss on the favoured peg 15 for much of the match.
Schultheiss has amassed a net of over 4lb in small silver fish — but he lost a late carp in the reeds and this proved to be costly.
Gladwell, on peg seven, then hooked into a carp himself and landed it to nick first spot with a 5lb haul. Third place went to Robert Coleman (peg 11) with 1lb 5oz. The next match at Jeagor Farm is on Sunday, March 8.
n Top rod at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery this week was Malcolm Foreman with 10 fish released on Sunday, all caught on a yellow-cheeked buzzer.
The next Air Flo Bank Masters competition at Blackdyke is on Sunday, March 22, with forms available to pick up at the fishery or via www.iainbarrflyfishing.co.uk
