Kevin Jolly has ruled out the return of Joe Jacobs to the Mildenhall Fen Tigers after insisting there will be no more changes this season.
The Fen Tigers’ promoter believes his riders have plenty to play for ahead of Monday’s National League meeting at Kent Kings, despite their recent poor form on the track.
“We’ve looked at the team and the possibility of everything, and have decided to stick with what we’ve got this season,” Jolly said.
“It’s a case of getting morale back into the boys. Once we do that I know the capability is there to be a successful team.
“We’re still holding a good league position after all this time so there’s still stuff to go for. It would be good to finish in the top four which would give us two meaningful meetings at the end of the season.”
Speaking after Nick Laurence’s announced return to the line-up on Monday, Jolly was excited at what a fully fit Laurence can bring to the Fen Tigers.
“Nick’s coming back in which was always going to be the case,” he said.
“He was with us in the earlier part of the season in April and sustained a broken collar bone and injured his back as well.
“He looks to be over that now and fit so he should strengthen us for the remainder of the season.”
Laurence will replace Stefan Farnaby in one of the reserve berths of the Mildenhall line-up, with the 20-year-old having only joined the Fen Tigers back in May.
