John Millard routed the opposition in the first match of the year on the big lake at Jeagor Farm Fishery on Saturday.
The Newmarket Angling Club member finished more than 20lb ahead of his nearest rival at the Holywell Row venue.
Fishing from peg eight, Millard topped the scales with 51lb, well ahead of runner-up and Lakenheath Angling Club chairman Eddie Powell, who was second with 22lb 5oz.
Venue regular Robert Coleman claimed third with 21lb 5oz.
n Dave Rodwell was the winner of the first Headfen Fishery Winter League match fished on Trev’s Lake on Sunday.
Although many anglers struggled in the cold conditions, Rodwell managed to land a decent weight for the time of year by plundering 42lb 6oz.
Newmarket member Geoff Arnold took second with 35lb 8oz, while his in-form clubmate Millard secured third with 30lb 8oz.

Cats whiskers, yellow dancers and apps bloodworms on floating lines close to the bank have all been catching well.
