Members of Newmarket Cycling and Triathlon Club gathered together at the end of last month for their annual awards night.
On the triathlon front, the night’s big winner was Eugene Husband, who picked up two awards when winning both the men’s veteran prize and the Taylor Cup.
While Husband was the only multiple winner in the triathlon ranks, there were several multiple winners in cycling.
Bob Watson was the most-celebrated rider, winning four trophies following his efforts on two wheels during 2014.
Claiming first place in the Men’s Time Trial League, Watson also added his name both the 25 and 50-mile Time Trial Cups and the Short BAR Cup.
Fran Rust and Gary Hounsome received two trophies apiece during the event, held at the Rosery Hotel in Exning, with Rust landing the Women’s Time Trial League and the 10-mile Handicap Trophy with Malk Sahota, and Hounsome the most-improved rider and the hill climb prize.
