Newmarket Ladies II enjoyed a goal-fest against bottom-of-the-league Ely City III in East Women’s League Division Four North West (South).

Olivia Haste bagged herself a double hat-trick, while there were five goals each for Beth Wombwell and Abbi Pass.

Hannah Kelly netted a double and there were also strikes from Cassie Ayms and Angel Fayers in Newmarket’s 20-0 triumph.

Newmarket Ladies’ first team went down to a 6-1 defeat against UEA, who netted twice in the opening 15 minutes of the first half of their Division Two North East encounter.

Claire McDonnell got Newmarket’s first with 10 minutes remaining in the opening period, but four more goals from UEA completed the scoring.

With players absent, April Atkinson stepped it up in defence, while Denise Wagner and McDonnell worked well in midfield.

Newmarket III came from behind to earn a point against Bourne Deeping II in Division Four North West (South).

Deeping thwarted the Newmarket attackers throughout the game until late in the second half when the ball fell to Georgia Atherton, who drilled it beyond the keeper.
