Newmarket Joggers had the Abingdon 10km surrounded with a fabulous mixture of elite performers and graduates from their successful beginners’ groups.
Denys Olefir stormed home in a personal best time of 33 minutes and 12 seconds, while a personal best was also on the agenda for Paul Dockerill in a solid time of 42:18.
The evergreen Neville Clarke was next home for the Joggers in 43:21 to take the V60 class, with the dependable Clive Purbrook finishing in 45:18, Belinda Schofield came home in 49:33 and Miles Johnson ran well in 52:09.
Kate Warboys, a graduate of the 2014 beginners group, has made great progress and finished in 58:47, while Mary Marsh was solid in 1:00:45.
Jane Smith (1:02:15), Jackie Henley (1:02:52), Emma Townsend (1:03:57), Caroline Sheehan (1:05:43), Jenny Osbourn (1:06:16) and Rhonda Waters (1:08:27) also completed the course.
Ursula Ransom claimed a magnificent podium finish and was clearly the best female in the Ely Half Marathon.
Ransom finished in eighth place with a time of one hour and 38 minutes, while Sally Nicholson posted a time of 2:23 on her half marathon debut and Gillian Green came home in 2:27.
Keith Williams has been working hard of late to get back to his best endurance running, and made a huge step towards that with a splendid run in the Chester Marathon.
The V50 veteran came home in a time of 3:58:50.
Charles Shoolbred bid farewell to the Joggers prior to moving to Ipswich Jaffa with a fine performance in the RAF Honington 10km race.
The V65 athlete came home in a superb time of 45:23, while Chris Aylmer finished in 55:30.
Newmarket Jogger Manuel Marchi ran in his home town 10km race, the San Antonio de Areco 10km in Buenos Aires.
Marchi made the journey worthwhile with a solid performance, finishing in 45:16.
