Newmarket Cycling Club’s Gary Hounsome broke his previous 25-mile personal best by more than three minutes to take the fastest club member trophy.
Having qualified for the World Time Trial Championships, Hounsome completed the club’s 25-mile championship in 58 minutes and 31 seconds.
Junior rider Lewis Stevens was the overall winner with a time of 57.31, while Lee Woodcock took second place in 58.20.
Newmarket Cycling’s Matt Smith picked up victories in two 10-mile time trial competitions.
Smith completed the All at Six Mile Bottom circuit in 19.20, ahead of fellow club riders Bob Watson (21.42), Steve Peck (23.19) and Paul Barnes (24.43). A time of 19.07 saw Smith win the Herts Wheelers’ 10-mile time trial on Saturday by almost 40 seconds, while Bobbie Mach finished as third lady in the Victoria 10.2 mile race.
