Newmarket Cycling and Triathlon Club held their first triathlon of the year at the weekend which attracted more than 100 participants from across the local area.
A 300 metre pool swim at Newmarket Leisure Centre was followed by a 22 kilometre bike ride and culminated in a 4km run.
Adam Tapley was first across the finish line with a time of 53 minutes and 41 seconds, with Gordon Irvine in sixth the first from Newmarket to complete the course.
Eugene Husband took 10th place, Robin Millar finished in 1.20.41 and Hannah Cooke finished as the first female.
David Hawes took on his first triathlon in 1.13.08, with Janet Ashby completing her maiden triathlon in a time of 1.59.54.
Newmarket’s Gareth Godfrey and Jake Woolf competed well at the Beaver Middle Distance Triathlon on Saturday.
Godfrey took 68th place out of 311 with a time of four hours and 48 minutes, while Woolf recorded a personal best after completing the course in 5.16.
Francesca Rust took first place in her category at the Peterborough 10 mile time trial at the weekend, finishing fifth overall out of a field of 20 riders.
