Mildenhall Fen Tigers promoter Kevin Jolly expressed his relief after the search for a seventh rider ended earlier this week.

The West Row-based outfit announced the loan signing of Stefan Farnaby from Berwick Bandits on Monday night, with Jolly delighted to have secured the services of the former Coventry Storm and Buxton Hitmen rider.

“It has been a long and difficult process to find a seventh rider,” admitted the Mildenhall promoter. “There simply isn’t that many three pointers available at present.

“We have settled on Stefan and will look to work with him to get his career going forward.

“Stefan will start with meetings away at Buxton this Sunday and then at Coventry the following Friday.

“I am sure he will want to impress and show his ex-teams what they are missing!”

Sunday’s 46-43 home win against Eastbourne Eagles helped the Fen Tigers move to within a point of National League leaders Cradley Heathens, despite still being winless on the road so far in 2015.

But Jolly has backed Mildenhall’s new recruit to help the West Row side break their away hoodoo, with Sunday’s opponents Buxton having won just once so far this season.

“We don’t expect miracles from him, but feel with the support and guidance we can give him he is more than capable of picking up some valuable points for us at the bottom of the order,” he said.
