Emotionless, the Charlie Appleby-trained colt who is set to put his unbeaten record on the line next week in the Group 1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes, went through his paces in a public gallop at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Wednesday.

The Dubai Dewhurst Stakes - at £500,000 the joint-richest juvenile Group 1 race in Europe alongside the Dubai Fillies’ Mile - will take place over seven furlongs of the Rowley Mile on October 10, and is one of the showpiece events of the two-day Dubai Future Champions Festival.

Galloping with two companions over six furlongs and ridden by William Buick, Emotionless set off at the back of the trio before drawing clear in the last furlong.

Charlie Appleby, trainer of Emotionless, said: “It was just routine work with his usual lead horses and I was very happy with what I saw.”
