Chris Wall has earmarked the Sandringham at Royal Ascot as a possible target for Mix and Mingle after a ready success at Newmarket this afternoon.
The two-year-old ran out a ready winner of the Dubai EBF Fillies’Nursey Handicap at racing headquarters to follow up her maiden win at Lingfield last time out.
A delighted Wall said: “We will put her away for next year but something like the Sandringham might be for her as she is a filly who goes well in the summer.
“We wondered whether we should run her in the Oh So Sharp Stakes but thought we would run here here as she might need the experience.
“We knew she was a good filly and that was nice.”
An excellent start to the second day of the festival for Newmarket trainers was backed up by Gifted Master’s victory in the Vision Autumn Stakes.
The Hugo-Palmer trained horse held off the attentions of the Aiden O’Brien-trained Beacon Rock to land the spoils on the Rowley Mile.
Gifted Master’s victory came hot on the heels of Covert Love’s Prix de l’Opera victory at Longchamp to complete a memorable week for Palmer.
