There was double success for Newmarket Links golfers in their annual Junior Open.

In total, 44 juniors from 14 local golf clubs took part in dry but windy conditions last Monday.

The Scratch winner was 16-year-old Links junior captain Jordie Allen, who won in a play-off at the second extra hole from Joseph Timms from Nene Park after both shooting rounds of 78.

Teddy Hall, 10, also from Links, made it a double celebration by winning the Handicap Cup with a magnificent round of net 67, playing off a 29 handicap. This was a shot clear of James McLaughlin from Ely City.

The team prize was won by Gog Magog Golf Club with a 228 total.
