Chapman impresses in debut triathlon

Newmarket Jogger Nicky Chapman made an excellent triathlon debut to finish third in her category on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Newmarket’s Simon Harris finished in eighth with a time of 39 minutes and 38 seconds in the Wimpole Hall 10 kilometre race.

Karine Ferrin was the third female across the line, and 45th overall, with a time of 44.00.

Kevin Connolly showed great improvement to finish 71st out of 232 runners in the North Downs Way 50 Ultra event at the weekend, with a time of nine hours and 54 minutes.

Robin Clifford took the V40 prize in the East Cams Half Marathon, with a time of 1.22.06 enough to land fifth place overall.

Martyn Taylor (1.25.56) finished in eighth, Alex Cairns (1.28.33) secured 12th place, while Marcus Hall (1.37.18), Jeremy Reader (1.49.35), Keith Williams (1.51.24), Clive Purbrook (1.55.02) and Isabel Vincente (2.28.49) all completed the race.

Newmarket Joggers are now taking entries for their popular 10 kilmometre race in July.
