Tony Browes will be looking to turn the clock back as he prepares to step into the ring to make his kickboxing debut in the Combat Kickboxing Academy’s show in Debenham on Saturday.

The 50-year-old, who celebrates his birthday three days after the event, only took up the sport 12 months ago and has been through a vigorous regime in preparation, losing three stones to get fight ready.

He goes into his encounter as the overwhelming underdog with his opponent nine years his junior with 18 months more experience.

Browes will be joined on the night by two other Newmarket-based fighters in action with Lee Parrott appearing in a full contact kickboxing bout, while Stephen Taylor will be involved in a white collar boxing bout.

All three men are aiming to raise money for EACH (East Anglian Children’s Hospices).
