Mildenhall begin ground upgrades
Mildenhall Town have started the process of getting their ground up to Ryman League standard.
Back in November 2016, chairman Martin Tuck revealed to us that the club’s facility on Recreation Way required improvements worth an estimated £30,000 to comply with the regulations of Step Four football.
Included on the list was the installation of two turnstiles, as well as external toilets.
A new stand, to seat at least 50 spectators, was also required and the club have today had that put in to place along the far side of the ground, located near the dugouts.
On the pitch, Dean Greygoose’s team currently top the division, but a run of four league matches without a victory means the destination of the title is now out of their control.
Felixstowe & Walton United (second) and Gorleston (fourth) both have games in hand on Mildenhall and would leapfrog them were they to win those.
Only the team that is top come the end of the season is guaranteed promotion, providing their stadium is of the necessary standard by the March 31 deadline.
