Line Of Duty wins Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs for Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby
Charlie Appleby's year to remember got even better last night after Line Of Duty landed him the $1million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs.
The Godolphin trainer has racked up a succession of big winners in 2018, including Masar's victory at June's Investec Derby.
And he now has another top-level triumph to add to his ever-growing collection as Line Of Duty – ridden by William Buick – survived a stewards' enquiry to get the better of Uncle Benny.
Moulton Paddocks' Appleby told reporters: “It’s lovely to be here. William gave him a great ride. He managed to get him wide and come with a clear run. It’s great for the team and especially Sheikh Mohammad."
The win was Appleby's third at the meeting from just five runners, while for Godolphin it was win number eight.
