Lakenheath set for clash with league rivals Norwich CBS

Ben Cowling says his Lakenheath players know the importance of this weekend’s clash with Thurlow Nunn League First Division North promotion rivals Norwich CBS.

A 4-0 victory away at Felixstowe & Walton United Reserves last Saturday saw Lakenheath end a run of three league games without a win.

Cowling’s side currently sit in fourth place – the final promotion spot in First Division North – ahead of hosting third-placed Norwich this Saturday (3pm).

“We’ve got games in hand on the teams above us, but it’s really important how we do against those teams,” Lakenheath boss Cowling said.

“The players know how important Saturday’s game is and how big three points could be for us.

“It’s two teams in the promotion places going against each other. We want to stay there and we know there’s quite a cluster of teams just behind us.”

Tobi Lawal and Ryan Sanders are both set to return this weekend, while Craig Pruden and Shane Leech will both face fitness tests.
