LONDON BOUND: Mark Hart and Claire Kyndt

Two members of staff from King’s Ely will be competing at this year’s London Marathon.

Mark Hart, who is the chief operating officer at King’s Ely, and Claire Kyndt, director of learning development and geography teacher at King’s Ely Senior, are both well into their training programme for this year’s event on Sunday, April 23.

Ely-based Kyndt is running for Mind (The National Association For Mental Health) and is hoping to raise £3,000, while marathon veteran Hart — along with his daughter Ellie — is aiming to collect at least the same amount for Asthma UK.

“I am really looking forward to the event and running with Ellie in her first marathon,” he said.

“It will be a great feeling to be cheered on by our family, who have supported me in London during every one of my marathons.”

Hart’s nephew Daniel Finn died of an asthma attack in 2006 aged nine.
