Soham Town Rangers add five names to 2019/20 roster in Matt Allan, Alex Brown, Ben Keating, Patrick Campbell and Cameron Watson
BetVictor Isthmian League North side Soham Town Rangers have announced four new signings ahead of the new season in Godmanchester Rovers' Matt Allan and Alex Brown, Haverhill Borough's Cameron Watson, Huntingdon Town's Ben Keating and Patrick Campbell.
The Step 4 club, who will begin their league campaign away to Maldon & Tiptree on the opening day of the season on August 17, are preparing for their 12th season in the division.
And they will be boosted by the addition of four new players, revealed by the club on Twitter on Sunday morning.
The club had already revealed Allan had signed in June, but have now reconfirmed his commitment to the squad as the season nears.
He has already enjoyed a brief spell at Julius Martin Lane, making 11 appearances and scoring five goals at the start of the 2017/18 season having progressed through Histon's youth setup as their top scorer. But his time in Soham did not last long as he was whisked away to Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Godmanchester Rovers in September 2017.
Allan went on to 41 appearances last term for the Step 5 club and scoring 15 goals to attract the attention of the Step 4 club once more.
He will be joined at the club by teammate Alex Brown, with the defender also moving up a league from Goddy.
Meanwhile Haverhill defender Cameron Watson will step up two levels from Step 6 side Haverhill Borough.
The centre back made 46 appearances for the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North side last term, scoring eight goals from the back.
Watson has also played for rival club Haverhill Rovers and is an experienced defender at Step's 5 and 6 having played for both Haverhill sides for years.
He has experienced Step 4 football, after transferring to Histon when they were a Southern League Division One Central side in 2016.
They will be joined by central midfielder Ben Keating from Huntingdon Town, in Division One of the Uhlsport United Counties League (Step 4).
Keating made 35 appearances, 12 as captain, while also scoring four goals last season as he helped the club narrowly avoid relegation.
The Greens have also signed Patrick Campbell, a defender who moves from Cockfosters FC ahead of the new season and will also test his skills at a higher-league.
