Isleham slip to a late loss after Bird’s opener

A late goal saw Isleham Under-12 Girls suffer a 2-1 defeat at the hands of their Cambridge City counterparts.

It was Isleham that took a first-half lead through an unlikely source as Freya Bird broke out of defence, weaved her way forward and smashed in the opening goal.

However, City scored twice after the restart to seal the victory.

n Newmarket Town Under-12 Girls suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of table-toppers Coton.

Katie Spiers was on target for Newmarket, who remain third.
