Too Darn Hot retired to stud after Sussex Stakes victory

Last year's European Champion Two-Year-Old – the John Gosden-trained Too Darn Hot – has been retired to stud after suffering a career-ending injury.

It is believed that the Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber-owned colt sustained the problem during his victory in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last week.

Simon Marsh, who is the racing and bloodstock manager for the Webbers, said: "The injury is not life-threatening. "He should make a full recovery.

"His future now lies at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket where he will recuperate and stand at stud for the 2020 season."

The son of Dubawi, who was unbeaten in four starts as a juvenile, racked up a total of £1.32m in prize money.
