The current Fen Tigers number one will make his debut for the Witches when taking a reserve berth against the Glasgow Tigers at Foxhall Stadium tonight, before facing the Scottish-based side at Ashfield Stadium tomorrow.

“I think if he keeps his head down and doesn’t let things get to him I’m sure he will be okay. He has got a natural talent on the bike. He looks quick and I’m sure he will be fine,” said Heeps.

“It helps being young as nothing phases you. I think everyone can see if he sticks at it and puts everything in he will go a long way.

“I think if he makes starts and brings in the points I can see him doing well. I think with him and Coty (Garcia) we have two strong riders at reserve.”

While Kemp, who turned 16 on Saturday, is looking forward to his big opportunity to star for the Witches, he hopes he can keep any nerves under control.

“I’m just excited about it really but I will probably have a few nerves. I’ve just got to ride to my best and make some good starts,” said Kemp.

“I’m 16 at the end of the day and I’m only in my first season racing in the National League. I don’t think there will be lots of pressure on me, only the pressure I put on myself.”
