Newmarket's first race of 2020 is won by William Haggas' Sacred

The two-year-old filly – owned by Cheveley Park Stud – was always prominent in the Betway EBF Stallions Maiden Fillies' Stakes, before making her move to the front inside the final furlong.
Roger Varian's Sardinia Sunset was in the running until late on, but the daughter of Exceed and Excel – with James Doyle in the saddle – was moving away as she crossed the line a couple of lengths clear.
The early suggestion is that Somerville Lodge-based Haggas may now aim Sacred towards an outing at Royal Ascot.
