Stanley snatches late winner for Soham Town Rangers

A stoppage time header from Luke Stanley secured Soham Town Rangers a 3-2 victory away to third placed Wroxham in the Ryman League Division One North on Friday.

The Greens went two nil up inside the opening 45 minutes through goals from Dan Brown and Joey Abbs, before second half strikes from Andy Howell and Remy Gordon levelled up matters.

Just as it looked as though the points were to be shared up popped Stanley in the 91st minute and snatch all three points for the Julius Martin Lane outfit.

Rangers will bid to make it four straight wins in the league on Thursday when taking on Dereham at Julius Martin Lane. Kick-off 3pm.

In the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division goals from Mark Webster and Luke Parkinson gave Newmarket Town a 2-0 victory away at fierce rivals Mildenhall Town on Saturday. Ely City saw their home match with title-chasing Godmanchester Rovers postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The match has been rearranged to take place on Tuesday, March 3. City will be back in action on Friday when travelling to Thetford Town. Kick-off 7.45pm.

On Saturday Newmarket Town will host Kirkley and Pakefield while Mildenhall Town will visit FC Clacton. Both matches kick-off at 3pm.
