Jordan Gent gave the Greens a 12th minute lead, before both sides were reduced to 10 men when Soham’s Salim Relizani and Romford’s George Woodward were shown straight red cards within a minute of each other 10 minutes before the break.

Ross Paterson doubled Soham’s lead in the 54th minute, and it proved to be the winner after Akwasi Marfo pulled one back on 70 minutes.

n Mildenhall Town finish 2015 with a daunting trip to Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division leaders Norwich United on Monday afternoon (3pm).

The Hall (12th) slipped to a 2-1 defeat away at Hadleigh United on Saturday, leaving them without a win in their last three games.

Goals from Ryan Stafford and David Lorimer gave Hadleigh a 2-0 lead at the Millfield, before Matt Green got on the scoresheet for Mildenhall to set up an exciting finish.

n Ely City will end 2015 in the top three of the First Division no matter what the outcome of their clash with March Town United on Monday (3pm).
