Mildenhall bounce back with a comfortable win

Mildenhall Town bounced back from their FA Vase disappointment to beat Thetford Town 4-0 on Tuesday night.

A Dan Brown brace sealed a comfortable Premier Division victory for the Hall, who had led 2-0 courtesy of goals from Jacob Brown and Luke Parkinson.

Dean Greygoose’s side were back in league action for the first time in two-and-a-half weeks, and made it consecutive 4-0 victories in the Premier Division to climb up to 10th in the table.

Joe Allen and David Cooper returned to the Mildenhall starting line-up, in place of absent attacking duo Kelvin Enaro and David Lampshire, while Wayne Goddard and Jamie Hilton were called up to the bench.

Mildenhall made the perfect start when Jacob Brown netted his first goal for the club on 15 minutes, before Parkinson doubled the home side’s lead eight minutes later.

Dan Brown made it 3-0 to the Hall in the 27th minute, and doubled his account on the hour mark to complete a 4-0 victory for the hosts.

Mildenhall visit Swaffham Town on Saturday (3pm), before travelling to King’s Lynn Town Reserves in the League Challenge Cup second round on Tuesday (7.45pm).

n Newmarket Town made it back-to-back wins in the Premier Division with a 1-0 victory against Whitton United at the weekend.

Steve Holder’s fifth goal of the season was enough to give the Jockeys the points and preserve their fifth place position in the table.

Kevin Grainger’s men host Saffron Walden Town at Cricket Field Road tomorrow (7.45pm).
