Soham Town Rangers boss Steve Fallon is hoping that his side won’t slip up against lower-placed opposition again this weekend.
The Greens travel to Cray Wanderers on Saturday (3pm), who are currently 22nd in the Ryman League Division One North table.
But Fallon — whose Rangers side are flying high in fifth place — is taking nothing for granted when they travel to the Fortress Stadium.
“They are a lot better than their league position suggests,” said Fallon. “It will be important to get a good start.”
Soham slipped to a 5-1 home defeat to Barkingside on Saturday, who were 19th before the two sides met at Julius Martin Lane.
“It was a pretty awful first-half,” admitted Fallon. “The last two games before that were great from an attacking point-of-view, but we’re still looking for the best formation for our defence.”
Rangers will be without Andres Gutierrez and Scott Davis through injury this weekend, while Luke Stanley is expected to make his 100th appearance for the club.
The striker has netted 64 goals in 99 appearances since joining from Linton Granta just less than two years ago.

Christian Appleford’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat at Fakenham Town in the FA Vase second qualifying round at the weekend.
Adam Burroughs’ 75th-minute header cancelled out Ben Boyce’s opener, before Matty Franks restored the home side’s lead three minutes from time.
David Cooper was then sent off in added time for the visitors, who visit Needham Market in the Suffolk Premier Cup on Wednesday (7.45pm).
