Ely City will host Newmarket Town in a local derby in the FA Vase, while both have been drawn away in the opening round of the FA Cup, along with Mildenhall and Soham.

The road to Wembley begins in The Emirates FA Cup begins for Newmarket Town, Mildenhall Town and Ely City on August 15 when they are among 736 clubs in the extra preliminary round all dreaming of a successful and lucrative run.

Newmarket travel to Peterborough Northern Star, while Ely go to Holbeach United and Mildenhall have a short trip to fellow Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Haverhill Rovers.

All three will be hoping to pocket the £1,500 prize money available to the winners.

Soham Town Rangers enter the competition in the preliminary round on August 29 and will travel to the winners of the tie involving Haverhill Rovers or Mildenhall Town with the winners receiving £1,925.

The Greens have been drawn at home to Carlton Town in the preliminary round of the FA Trophy on Saturday, October 3 with £2,500 going to the winners.

In the FA Vase, Ely host Newmarket in the first qualifying round on Saturday, September 5 while Mildenhall will host the winners of the tie involving St Neots Town Saints or Team Bury in the second qualifying round on Saturday, October 3.
