The youngster suffered the injury during Wednesday evening's Knockout Cup tie away at Birmingham Brummies.

As yet there is no information regarding how long the 16-year-old will be sidelined for, though it would appear he is set for extended period away from the track.

Also likely to be absent for the foreseeable future is Sam Bebee, who broke his wrist during the meeting.

Birmingham's Mitchell Davey also suffered a succession of serious injuries during the encounter.

The team's number one rider was taken to hospital were it was confirmed he had punctured a lung, chipped several vertebrae, broke a shoulder blade and 12 ribs.

Fen Tigers will be in action this Sunday at home as their National League campaign gets under way against the Buxton Hitmen.
