Mildenhall Town captain Luke Butcher commits to club for new Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division season

Following the recent arrival of Casey Phillips, Mildenhall Town's preparations for next season have been further boosted by the news that their captain Luke Butcher has agreed to remain with the club.

Butcher joined Mildenhall in 2015 and he went on to become a key figure in the team that won the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division and back-to-back League Challenge Cups.

Injury struck during the club's first ever season at Step 4 in 2017/18, but he featured on a more regular basis last term, though his four goals in 27 appearances could not help keep Mildenhall in the Bostik League North Division.

Nevertheless, he will once again wear the armband in 2019/20 as manager Ricky Cornish looks to launch a Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division promotion challenge.

Manager Ricky Cornish said: "I am delighted that Butch has re-signed. He is our talisman at Mildenhall, someone that wears his heart on his sleeve.
