The skipper was forced to withdraw from the second leg of Saturday's National League Knockout Cup final at Eastbourne and subsequent scans have shown that he has broken three bones.

Jenkins, who was sidelined earlier in the season with a broken vertebrae, wrote on the club's Facebook page: "The doctor told me this wasn’t a simple injury and was worse than I first thought.

"I have been put in a cast for at least six weeks to let it heal naturally. I am really devastated that my season has ended like this.

"But this won’t hold me back, there is a long winter ahead of me which will involve many hours spend in the workshop and in the gym getting my self fully prepared to go again."

The Fen Tigers' opponents in the final are yet to be confirmed, with Eastbourne and Coventry set to battle it out in the semi-finals tonight and on Saturday.
