Simpson heads for Mildenhall exit
Gareth Simpson has decided to call time on his most recent stint with Mildenhall Town.
The experienced midfielder returned to Recreation Way for a fourth spell in the summer of 2015 and went on to become a key part of Dean Greygoose's successful side.
After helping Mildenhall to win the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup in 2016, the following campaign he cleaned up at the club's end-of-season awards night as the team secured a league and cup double.
He stayed put for Mildenhall's first ever season at Step 4 in 2017/18, but has now opted to move on for a fresh challenge.
Paying tribute to Simpson on the club's Facebook page, Greygoose said: "I would just like to show my total respect and appreciation for the service Gareth Simpson has given this club – on the pitch, but also off the pitch.
"A true gent and professional, it was great to see him finally win some trophies his career deserved.
"However, like all players their time is up when it is up and Simmo feels it is time for him to face a fresh challenge."
