England champion Demie-Jade Resztan will headline New Astley Boxing Club's annual show at the Racing Centre

England champion Demie-Jade Resztan will headline a packed bill as New Astley Boxing Club hosts its annual show at the Racing Centre on Saturday.

The club star will be up against Ireland Under-22 champion Courtney Daly and head coach Mark O’Reilly is expecting a tough bout.

“It looked unlikely for a long while that Demie would have a fight because there is nobody in the country that can touch at club shows,” he said.

“Thankfully we found someone though and she is up against a very good boxer.

“She is from Crumlin Boxing Club in Dublin, which is where Conor McGregor started, and they are very tough.

“Those fighters are so tough and while of course they are skilful, they also never stop. It is going to be a stern test.”

The Eastern Counties Junior Championships will also be on the 18-bout card, while Samuel O’Gorman and Ollie Quinn will make their competitive debuts for the New Astley Club.

Doors open at 4pm, fighting starts at 5pm. The price for adults is £15 and £5 for children.
