An 89-year-old woman suffered a cut to her head after she was attacked by three masked men at her home in Lakenheath yesterday.

Police were called to Arrowhead Drive shortly before 8.10pm, where three men, wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, had broken into the victim’s house and hit her.

They then searched the house before leaving. It is not yet known what was stolen.

The victim was taken by ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said: “Officers immediately attended and found the woman with a cut to her head and an ambulance was called.

“At this stage the injury is not thought to be life threatening and she has been talking to officers at the hospital with her.”

Suffolk Police has launched an investigation into the incident.

They have searched the area, with assistance from MOD police, and cordoned off the property.

Officers are following several lines of enquiry to trace those involved, but are asking anyone who was in the area between 7.30pm and 8.30pm to come forward as they may have information that can assist.
