Police have concluded their searches at Ely’s Royal Standard pub as part of their investigation into the disappearance of former landlady Deborah Steel.
The 37-year-old was last seen in the early hours of December 28 1997.
Police, who later upgraded their investigation to a murder inquiry, began digging up a patio area at the pub yesterday but stopped their investigations later in the day.
The search was carried out with the consent of the present landlord who is not connected with the investigation.
Police said: “We are pursuing further lines of inquiry and continue to search for the truth regarding Deborah’s disappearance.”
A 73-year-old man is currently on bail until April 29. Two other men aged 70 and 50 were previously on police bail but this has since been cancelled.
