Union J sign deal with major label

It has been a good start to the new year for Jamie ‘JJ’ Hamblett and his Union J bandmates, who announced they have signed a record deal and are set to release their first single this year.

The band, which reached the semi-finals of The X Factor, signed with RCA Records, one of the flagship labels of Sony Music Entertainment.

A statement from the boys, who will release their first single in June, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be signed to RCA.

“Being on X Factor was such a great experience and the perfect way for us to start our musical journey.

“Hopefully 2013 will be an amazing year for us and we cannot wait for everyone to hear our music.”

The RCA Label Group looks after some of the biggest stars in the music business, including Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Pink and Britney Spears.
