Annual turnover figures at Tattersalls have produced record numbers for the second successive year.

A figure of 263,411,173 guineas was recorded by the world famous bloodstock auctioneers following the conclusion of its December Mare Sale, a total six per cent higher than the last year’s record one.

“The annual figures not only reflect the sustained demand for European bloodstock at all levels of the market, but also the quality of the stock which consignors from Britain, Ireland and further afield have sent to Tattersalls throughout the year,” said Edmond Mahony, Tattersalls chairman.

“As well as a new high for annual turnover, 2014 has seen unprecedented demand at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale and Tattersalls December Foal Sale. “

The next sale at Tattersalls is the February Sale that takes place over February 5 and 6. Entries are now being taken and can be made online at www.tattersalls.com.
