Newmarket’s Tattersalls sales ring will play host to a special commemorative concert later this month.
It is being organised by the Cambridgeshire Royal British Legion to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War and will be held on Saturday May 31.
The featured bands will be the Newmarket Town Band and the City of Ely Military Band and the programme of music will include marches from the Great War with the audience having plenty of opportunity to sing along with some of the well-known songs of the period.
As well as the music there will be a parade of the standards from the county’s legion branches and a drum display by the Newmarket Air Cadets.
The concert starts at 7pm .Tickets which are £10 for adults, £5 for children are available by ringing 01353 666870. All proceeds will go to the Poppy Fund and the Royal British Legion.
