Stable doors stolen from Newmarket yard

Police are warning horse and yard owners to review their security after thieves got away with thousands of pounds worth of equipment from two premises over the weekend.

Five pallet loads of stable fronts, which included wooden stable doors on metal runners, were stolen from premises in Newmarket between 9pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday.

And over £12,000 of equestrian equipment which included saddles, bridles, wheelbarrows, a fence energiser and clippers was stolen after a number of tack rooms at a yard in Carlton Colville which was broken into between 9pm and 6.30am the same night.
