Roadworks on A11 and A14 near Newmarket and Mildenhall this week
Motorists in west Suffolk have been advised to expect disruption this week as roadworks begin on the A11 and A14.
Highways England has released details of the works, which will be in force in some places from today.
Later on today, tomorrow and Wednesday a concrete survey will close the A11 northbound between Red Lodge and Mildenhall from 8pm to 6am.
A clearly signed diversion will be in place as follows: To continue northbound along the A11, take the diversion via A14 up to junction 43 and A134 before re-joining the A11 at the A134 / A11 roundabout near Thetford.
On the A14, there will be a westbound closure between junctions 38 (Red Lodge bypass) and 37 (Newmarket) from 9pm to 5am this weekend (November 23-24).
These works will carry out improvements to road markings and studs.
A clearly signed diversion will be in place as follows: To continue westbound, take the diversion via A14 junction 43, A134 towards Thetford, A11 towards Newmarket, A1304 and A1402 before re-joining the A14 westbound at junction 37.
