Paddocks Primary School PTA raised £1,600 at their recent fete despite atrocious weather.
The parent teacher organisation has raised thousands to provide play equipment for the Newmarket primary school and is hoping this latest money will also go towards further facilities for pupils.
The day saw displays by Saxons and Viking re-enactors, fairground rides, lots of stalls and a range of refreshments. A planned assault course and martial arts display were cancelled due to the rain.
Each class at the school also ran their own stalls.
PTA Chairman Cathy Brown said: “We did pretty well considering how much rain we had on the day.”
The PTA has already provided outdoor play equipment costing £10,000 and wants to provide extra picnic benches for the older children.
