Police say a 44-year-old man arrested in connection with yesterday’s incident at RAF Mildenhall has been detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

The British man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of criminal trespass and criminal damage.

Suffolk Police say their investigations into the incident continue and anyone with information is asked to contact them on 101.

USAF personnel fired shots after the man rammed the base gates in a car.
