The Godolphin Under Starters’ Orders specialist primary education programme, returned to Newmarket’s July Course for its second consecutive year. More than 200 Year 5 students, from nine local schools, in and around Newmarket, benefited from the course which was created to develop students’ understanding and interest in the horseracing industry, as well as raise awareness of Newmarket’s rich racing heritage. The programme is run as a partnership with industry stakeholders, including Racing to School, The Jockey Club, Palace House and Newmarket Racecourses and is sponsored by Godolphin.

Pupils learned about racing heritage and history at Palace House , thoroughbred breeding and pedigrees at Dalham Hall Stud, and then went to the July Course to watch racing and experience what goes on at a busy racecourse.
